Look at that boat slowly coming in to land
Look at that boy carrying his baby brother
Look at the woman with her head bowed low
Where are you coming from? Where do you want to go?
R. Sometimes I am the victim and sometimes I'm the sword
sometimes I feel as righteous as the Lord
sometimes I wonder how all of this will end
sometimes I break, but more often I bend.
I'm just like you, alone, confused and scared.
I am a small child roaming in the night.
There are some things about which I should care,
for staying human may be worth a fight.
I have seen horrors, my eyes hurt and cry
I have not dared to offer help nor hand
I have just asked myself once again with a sigh
What do I think of this? Where do I stand?
Some things are bigger than one's fear and pain
Sometimes the rivers don't stop at the dam
The walls do crumble and cold hearts feel shame
Stop shouting now and tell me if you can?
See, being human only means a lot
if we are ready to share what we've got
For it's the bravest among all who does
Feel fear and still act as a good man must.
